Plot

Three months after a one night stand in Las Vegas, Alex and Isabel decide to get married (because he has gotten her pregnant). Problems soon arise as they meet each others families, deal with work colleagues, and most importantly, get to know each other.

The major crisis in the movie is the couple learning to adapt to the culture of their new partner. Isabel is from a Catholic Hispanic family, while Alex's family is more traditional WASP.

Trivia

  • The film's title is based on part of the song "Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear to Tread)", written by Johnny Mercer and Rube Bloom and made famous by Frank Sinatra . It was covered by Elvis Presley in 1972. A version of the song performed by UB40 appears in the films trailer.
  • The full adage, "Fools rush in where Angels fear to tread" is taken from Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism.
