Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

This animated short starts with a group of small birds perched together on a telephone wire. When a much larger and awkward-looking bird arrives, the smaller birds reject him with taunts and insults. Still, he persists in trying to win their friendship, until at last the smaller birds decide to shove him from their perch. Only too late do they discover that there may be a problem with this plan.

Trivia

  • The birds can be heard and seen (very briefly) on a telephone line in the beginning of Cars during the "Life is a Highway" sequence.
  • Director Ralph Eggleston provided the voice of the large bird.
  • According to Pixar's website, the first four birds actually have names and individual characteristics. From left to right they are: Chipper, Bully, Snob and Neurotic. When looked at closely, it can be seen that they act out their personalities.
  • Included with the theatrical and video/DVD release of Monsters, Inc.
  • For the Birds was the last production to be completed by Pixar at Point Richmond, before they moved to a new site in Emeryville, California.
  • Apperently, Squeeky toys were used for the small birds chirps and sqeals.

Basketball is undoubtedly a shooters game. Whether the shots are falling or not, shooters have to keep on taking shots. ISU freshman guard Maggie Krick is a shooter. From Krick's season high 20 point performance to lead the ISU women against Drake, to the Redbirds victory over Evansville where Krick didn't score a single point, she always takes her shots.
